It's time about winter vacation, Phoxar and I went to Taipei seeing the exibition of MoT. When we took a break, we was attractive to the post outside. Both Phoxar and I thought that was a easy game at first. However, after 10 minutes, we sweated a lot. It's really exciting. You had to run avoiding people shoting at you, and also aim the target on enemies. We had a great time this afternoon. I think it's suitable for anyone, even child and women. In addition, you can play the game even the weather is bad outside.

My favorite comics

I heard about this comics was one day Victoria mentioned it. She told me that in this story, there is a notebook can kill people by write down his/her name. I was surprised that how come the note book has magic.

In this story, the owner of death note is Light who is a genius. On the other hand, L is the detective wants to find out Kira (means killer in Japanese). I think the most interesting part is about human nature: Friendship(Light and his high school classmates) Coworkers (Light and L), Love (Light and Misa), and relatives (Light and his parents).

I was adore him at beginning, but in the end he lost himself. I think that is the logical ending at all.

My favorite PPAPER

This is my first ppaper bought from 7-11. One day, I saw that Phoxar bought a magazine (ppaper), and I was curious about that. At first, I didn't interest in this because it mostly talks about design. However, I change my mind since I bought one.

There are some issue that I like the most. Ivee's column, always talks about women and love, sometimes the popular society issue. Next, here are conversations between Imin Pao and Hsu, there is no certain topics, like food, travel, watch, and everything about life. The main theme of every magazine could be architectures, artists, companies, and so on. Even the Ads are impress me a lot.

By the way, every time I see the cover of ppaper, I can not waiting but want to know what's the content inside. That's why I buy this again and again. I have bought ppaper from 19 to 45. Try to have one, and you will enjoy reading it.

2007 World Press Photo

The 2007 World Press Photo exhibition is held 6/3-6/24 at Eslite Gallery B2, Taipei, Taiwan.

The foundation is a independent, non-profit organization with its office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where World Press Photo was founded in 1955. This year, more than 4,460 photographer from over 124 countries to participate this contest. About 78,083 photos are here. It's a tremendous amount.

The picture is taken by Spencer Platt in USA. There are two scenes in this picture. The ruined houses is the war stopped between Israel and Hezbollah. No fire and violation in the street. However, here are some young people driving their fashion car to find their parents and friends.

World Press Photo jury chair Michele McNally describes the winning image: "It's a picture you can keep looking at. It has the complexity and contradiction of real life, amidst chaos. This photograph makes you look beyond the obvious."

Microsoft, the biggest software company in the world. Also, Bill Gates in one of the richest person all over the world. However, I admire him a lot because of his dedication to charity. That's we say "Takes it to the society, with it to the society" I think Bill really does a great pattern.

The reason why I choose this film is a new milestone of technology. Not like the traditional desktop, it is completely use in desk or table. You don't need a mouse, a keyborad, and even the transmission lines. All you need is touch the monitor and put on your devices. Put on your camera, and you can share your photo with friends immediately; put on your smart phone and you can download the information and schedule right away; moreover, send the popular music to your ipod or mp3 player.

Formula 17

This week in phsycology class we talk about sex. We western people are seldom mention that private issue. However, a graduated student, DJ Chen, made her first film about homosexual. All the staff are women, so the atomosphere is quite new.

At the beginning, they should decide a topic, but not normal issue. That's why they don't choose love story like a man loves a woman. Homosexual issue is what they choose finally. DJ Chen pointed out that people are lonely, and want somebody to company. There are two actors, one is lookforward to forever love, and the other one who prefer one-night stand. Finally, both they change their charactor and find the balance of each other.

The picture I saw in National Palace Museum, it was painted by Albrecht Dürer.

The picture is mainly talked about a young and pretty woman sitting there. There are lots of tools around her, like compass, hourglass, and scale. I guess she was thinking a difficult mathmetic question. One feature of this picture is on the top of the right side.

There is a tab with many numbers. To my surprised, the numbers are like the sudoku. Each two numbers that oppposite to the center point, the sum is 17. It's interesting, isn't it?

Terracotta Army of Qin Shihuangdi

This is my first time go to National Museum of History in Taipei. I took MRT to the destination.

Because of holiday, many people lined up and waited for seeing the exhibition. There are also some terracotta outside. Qin Shihuangdi was the first Emperor and also unified China. I think it's quite important to make the rules that are the same. That would be easier to develop the country. However, not every policies he did was right. He destroyed most books and killed people who studied. One documentary I saw before said that " there is no country that educate people, but failed in development."

One piece drew my attention, that is a crane. I wonder know how they made this crane with long neck but had vivid movement. It seems that it is find some food to eat.

利用假日很悠閒的時間，看了康熙帝國、大國崛起，雖然我對歷
史一直很弱 ，加入康熙戲劇的元素卻讓我看了再看、看著大國也
讓我不斷興起旅行的念頭。

Tokyo Friend

The main actress is OTSUKA AI, also a well-know singer in Japan. The reason I want to see the movie is the OST. "TO ME" is my favorite song in the album. I felt familiar with the melody and lyrics thought I do not know Japanese well. When I listening the song, I do feel that she was so brave and passionate to do what he want. Even in the New York city, she try to find the man that encourage her and the initial love and dream.

Finally, the band and her have a concert in the gym. She sings with confident, and show the best voice.

That was a famous games even the time goes by. After the entrance exam, Phoxar and I installed the game in laptop and played all day long. I was so surprised that he had so many strategies that I can't fight back. For instance, he launched a missile on me and I was taken to the hospital. Next, he put a landmine in front of it. I left the hospital and "bomb" again. Gees, I'd miss so many rounds and felt disappointed. However, I was so luck that the price of stocks became higher. That's the reason why I got the victory. Imagination

That's really something. I remember that I read a fairytale about a boy who is good at drawing. He likes to edit everyone 's painting to be his style. He always color the sun with red. One day, the boy was invited to judge the animals' painting. and he finds out that the sun is not red as he think and some are even divided in to lots of squares. Finally, He realizes that everything is the same. Different views make the world full of diversity.

Forrest Gump

Well, I remember my first time to read the novel is about three years ago. I did not finish it. The movie got the Oscar 67th best movie. Recently, I saw the movie and read the novel again. It is quite different from what I thought. It is not boring at all, but full of humurous and heart warming stories. The background is with lots of histroy events: water-gate scandal, Vietnam war, Water-Gate scandal. Gump insisted in doing one thing and did it better. That's why he was good at table tennis, feeding shrimps, running and even the love he wanted.

Life is like a box chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.

Re-Cycle

As the title meaning, the films is talked about our memory. Part of memories are ignored as time goes by. However, they were not disapear at all. They will show and vanish againa and again. Teacher said that we human beings' memory mainly focus on feelings, eg: break up with your boyfriend or girlfriend, lose your favorite cell phone, ect. In this film, the actress try to find out what she had done in the past and to realized what is exactly in her mind.

By the way, the movie some scenes are similar with "silent hill" and "kung fu." Even in particular period, I felt that like a music video, not a film actually.

Happy Living

Last week, Joe, Hebe and I went to Taipei to see the exhibition in MoT again. There are five art masters drew their ideal life in five houses. I also bought some post cards. My favorite one is the image that use bitmap to present, like LEGO.

After that, we went to the "dingtaifung." It is well known for it's steamed pork dumplings and steamed shrimp dumplings. Though the snack is a little bit expensive, the the service and atomospher were pretty good.

What I've done-Linkin Park

The MV is great. It combined the hottest issues all over the world: global warming, nuclear bomb, terrorist attack, politics and war. Using those topics and show them in slide show. To show what we have done to the earth and to people. We human beings always follow the history and do not think about the consequence.

It's time to face the things we've done.

That's really something, that we only have a beautiful planet, earth. How could we destroy the place we live so quickly. As the economic and population growing, the pollution is also increasing. A manager of GE said that they are trying to find out what make less pollution. That is why GE operate more than 100 years.

We are capable to save our earth. The Sydney also shut down their city power system one hour for reponsing the global warming. We can do it! Like Gore insist that he is doing the right thing.

Charlotte's Web

My reading teacher assigned that book as homework, but I didn't pay much time reading it. However, I did not read it all. That's why I see the movie for quiz.

Wilbur is so lucky to meet such a good friend, Charlotte. The spider do not ask something in return because she had a "friend." Charlotte helps wilbur not to be killed by the net. Using some words to show the miracle. "Some pig" "Terrific" "Humble" In the end, the spider was dead, and the pig grow up and see the snow in winter.

That's important to treat people with care and patient, and they will treat you the same way.

Requiem For A Dream

Last time, Phoxar told me that there's another movie about drug. It has quite different view to present the man and his mother in the situation. Also, the TV program do show the dark of her mind. That was great.

The music impressed me, the latest film "The Sunshine" also use the music as BGM. That's why I saw the trailer and felt the music is so familar. Moreover, the lengh of the song is about six minute so that I can feel nevous, anxiety and excited.

Night at the Museum

It's really a funny movie and full of creativity. How could that be all the stuff could move at the night. Every showpiece have quite different acting. The dinosaur can catch the bone like the dog.

However, one thing I thought it is worth seeing. Once, the guide lose the booklet, and he spent much time in the library to study the history. To understand all the background knowlege that he could make all the showpiece back to their positions. I just watched the film for fun.

Even in different works and jobs. The first thing we need to know is to be the professor in that field. That's the world trend and also your competive ability.

Little Miss Sunshine

"There are two kind of people all over the world, victor or loser." said Oliver's father. Well, that really shows the value of Americans. People judge and score that are you capable to do this. Focus on your ability and profession.

There are six people in this family, and everyone of them got some problems: to be a pretty girl, to be a great writer, to be a pilot and to be a expert. However, things turn out to be different since Olive decide to attend the beauty contest. The scene that I impressed was Olive on the talent show, with smile and confidence. When her parents, brother and anut dance with her, it seems that all of them find the position they belong to.

Shinobi

I saw the movie in my senoir high with my classmate, Eva. That story was talke about a man and a woman seperated because of the war between two tribes. That's the reason they become in the opposite status. In the end, they met again and had to decide which one should be dead. The man suicided for saving the woman. However, she also pricked her eye ball, the only weapon she had.


Recently, I hear the song " heaven" sang by ayumihamasaki. That theme song made me think about the film. The feeling was quite different before seeing the movie. Maybe I was touched bye the characters. They had to decide what wanted, family or love. It was really hard to put them together.

Dream

Psychology class again. This week we talked about the dream. That is very commom and universal. For instance, mountain stands for freedom. Everybody could dream. Of course, there are many cultures all over the world, every one has different ways and views to interpret. For example, in we chinese culture, black cat means bad luck.

Yesterday, I saw the comics "battle royal" also talked about the dream. Dreams are like the disks in a computer, it refreshes what you've done today and show it.

We also have special homework. That is to write down what you dream. Hope that I could finish that work.

Protege

The cast members in this film are nice: Andy lau and Daniel Wu. Both of them are handsome even though Andy is a little bit older. However, the acting is also great and excellent.

Why do people take drugs? asked Daniel at the beginning.

He is an agent in a drug organization. Andy is the drug dealer. Nevertheless, the things happened when Daniel saw a woman drugged and almost died. On the other hand, his friends, Andy, wanted to give him all the property to him. He had to make a decision. After the women were dead, he became aware that it's time to end the game.

I think that is human nature, you'd decide which side is correct or false. And take the responsibility to the history.

To my astonishment, the film also shows the process how they make drugs and use some terms precisely.

In the end, the same question again "Why do people take drugs?"

We've got to think about it deeply!

TOTORO

Last week, I saw the film "totoro" after having a meeting with my friends. I was looking forward to seeing the movie again. That was a dream, a beautiful dream to our childhood with naive and innocent.

As time goes by, we grew up and lose the innocent that we used to have. Moreover, we are afraid of finding our dreams and goals. What a pity that we lose the courage to fight. We should take these two girls for example, they insisted what they thought and did it. That's what we lack of.

Hannibal Rising

YES, 3/9 is coming.

Last nigh, the same crew members, Cathy, Tiffany, Chris and I went to the theater to see the thriller movie "Hannibal Rising." Maybe that was my three or four time to this kind of film.

To my surprise, Hannibal was such a genius. He was good at many things: drawing, medicine, geography, and information collecting. That's why every time he shows always with elegance, silence and confidence.

By the way, Chris and Cathy were so scared that they covered their eyes when the scenes with blood and violence. However, I was eating my munchies as nothing happened.

DON'T HESITATE! GO TO SEE THE FILM!

Eternal Summer

In the Psycological class, we saw the movice called "Eternal Summer." That was directored by Taiwanese.

As the picture shows: the films mainly talked about two men and woman. All of them feel lonely in their heart, and try to find out what exactly the relatonship they are. A man to a man, or a man to a woman.

Maybe it is a quite hot issue after "Broken Back" awared. There is no right or false that a man like the other man. I think that all they want to do it to find a place that they belong to. In the end, they went to the beach and talked about what they thought and spoke out. Nevertheless, the director didn't tell us what's going on with these three people. The most important of all, I have to cherish everyone I met.

A Battle of Wits

Last week, I saw the DVD "A Battle of Wits." in the dormitory. Though I didn't have the background knowledge of the China history, there were many things that I can learn: honest, obident and the real meaning of win.

It's about the ancient China, there are many nations fought for lands, money and food. One man who believe Mozi try to help the Nation Liang not to be invaded by Nation Zhao.

The main actor is Andy Lau. As a leader teaching all the people what they should do and give the precisely command so that they can obey. That's what I saw in this charactor.

Museum of Tomorrow

In winter vacation, Benson and I decided to go to Museum of Tomorrow sponsored by PPaper (that group also publish magazine in 7-11 1st and 15th every month) The first show is about theFLOWmarket in Denmark. We got the news from the magazine that the final day was on 2/28.

WE GOT TO GO!

Benson and I took the train about 3 hours get there and took some pictures. To my surprised, all the products in theFLOWmarket all with heavy dust. The saler just sat there and chatted.

Then we went to the muji, lightspot, ppshop and Taiwan university. I was tired of walking all day long!!

The Pursuit of Happyness

That's really wired that the title put the "y" instead of "i"


Last Saturday, Chris, Tiffany, Cathy and I went to see a movie called "The pursuit of Happyness" The story is talked about Will Smith and his son how to conquered the difficulty even if the face many problems: do not have money to pay the tickets and rent. Smith has the support from his son and he do believe that he could do it.

I was moved by the scene that Smith got the permission to the company. As the proverb said "As you sow, so shall you reap" I saw the strongly believeing in that guy.

I remembered that one of magazaine that I read :most of the rich person had bankrupted. Instead, they will know how to improve and think deeply into everything. That's what I thought.

BAD Weather

I DO NOT love the weather that are cold and humid. Everything could turn out to be inconvenient.

When I rold the bike and use the umbrella, I felt that was quite dangerous. Moreover, with this bad weather, I can't ride my dear motorcyle to go out. I want to breath fresh air outside! My classmates in Taipei also cancelled the trip to here because of the bad weather.

I heard the news report said that the temporature could be fine next days.

Hope that tomorrow will be a SUNNY day.

Writing Class

1.What did you learn in writing class last semester, and what was new to you?

"you are what you write" said the wrting tearcher last semester


2.What do you feel are your strong and weak points in your writing ability in English? Is it grammar, spelling, formatting, or expressing yourself smoothly, or is it something else? Please try to be specific.

I think the great barrier is that I was thinking about what is worth reading to the reader and how to get new idea to the paragraph. I do believe that could be conquered by reading and I will do so.
