2007 World Press Photo
The 2007 World Press Photo exhibition is held 6/3-6/24 at Eslite Gallery B2, Taipei, Taiwan.
The foundation is a independent, non-profit organization with its office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where World Press Photo was founded in 1955. This year, more than 4,460 photographer from over 124 countries to participate this contest. About 78,083 photos are here. It's a tremendous amount.
The picture is taken by Spencer Platt in USA. There are two scenes in this picture. The ruined houses is the war stopped between Israel and Hezbollah. No fire and violation in the street. However, here are some young people driving their fashion car to find their parents and friends.
World Press Photo jury chair Michele McNally describes the winning image: "It's a picture you can keep looking at. It has the complexity and contradiction of real life, amidst chaos. This photograph makes you look beyond the obvious."
